Die Krot hat so ihre Zweifel, von wegen historischer Akkuratesse. Gut, sie kann sich schon denken, dass man zur Not in einem Stall unterkommt, wenn ein Kind sich plötzlich ankündigt. Aber sicherlich bleiben die Kindseltern da nicht die nächsten vierzehn Tage. So warm wird's da nicht gewesen sein.
Und mal ganz ehrlich, abgesehen von dem Gold, was würde mehr Sinn machen für ein Baby und seine Mutter?

Frau Krot spitzt ihren Bleistift und schreibt eine Liste.

Immerhin interessant, findet die Krot, dass es drei Männer sind, die da durch die Welt ziehen und seltsame Geschenke für einen Säugling mitbringen.
Wer braucht schon Myrrhe und Weihrauch? Okay, Gold ist recht wertbeständig. Und der Herr Zeisig weist darauf hin, dass Weihrauch sich sicherlich auf Kleinanzeigen verhökern ließe.

Rather interesting, the Krot finds, that it's three men who travel the world bringing peculiar gifts for an infant.
Who needs myrrh and frankincense anyway? All right, gold is fairly stable in value. And Herr Zeisig points out that frankincense could surely be flogged on Craigslist.
The Krot has her doubts about historical accuracy. Fair enough, she can imagine that one might end up in a stable in a pinch when a child suddenly announces itself. But surely the child's parents wouldn't stay there for the next fortnight. Can't have been all that warm.
And quite honestly, apart from the gold, what would make more sense for a baby and its mother?
Nappies, a milk goat, gripe water...
Krot takes up her pen and starts writing...
